WORD TEMPLATE FORMAT. These forms are Word Templates. After downloading you install the file in your template
library for Word. Then, to use, you open Word, click New and a new document
file opens with fields for you to fill in. When you are finished, you save
the file (in the client's name is a logical name) in the usual way. This file can
then be sent to underwriters as an attachment to an email and will arrive there
as a proper application ready for response and processing. This method is very handy for you to use if a client comes into your office or if you are in the field and have it installed on your laptop. Helpful tips for installation and use are included in the seperate file which is in .rtf format so it is accessable by most any computer. For those without MSWord, we believe that WordPerfect and some other word processing programs use similar procedures but how is up to you we are sorry to advise. Lloyd's Blue Book of Aviation Wordings © - We sincerely regret that we were requested by the Lloyd's Aviation Underwriters Association
- LAUA - to take down all the Blue Book wordings we had posted
previously. Maybe you can influence them to allow a change of position? It seems
like a dumb one to me and several others who took the time to write me about
it. IF YOU REALLY NEED ONE OF THE WORDINGS, SEND ME AN EMAIL AND I CAN SEND IT BACK TO YOU - USUALLY PRETTY FAST. The following is the exchange of emails: From: Macfarlane, Ian [mailto:Ian.Macfarlane@lloyds.com] Sent: February 20, 2002 4:42 AM (PST) To: 'email@avindirect.com' Subject: Lloyd's Aviation Underwriters' Association "Standard Policy Forms, Proposal Forms and Clauses, Etc." Dear Sir, AvInDirect We are aware that you have technically appropriated our property without our permission and ask under what authority you have published the forms? We hereby ask you to cease publication and withdraw our "Blue Book" from your website. Yours sincerely Ian Macfarlane Secretary, LAUA OUR RESPONSE - February 20, 2002 at 8:48 (PST) Dear Sir, In response to yours, the Privacy and Copy write section of the web site sets out the terms under which I might use any property belonging to others. The wordings were supplied by a major broker who felt that they would useful to the Aviation Insurance community on line for when members are traveling, etc. As a former "major" broker I saw some sense in this. Since the wordings are so widely distributed and photo copied constantly it did not seem unreasonable. Since the wordings are of particular value to any insurance buyers whom it would seem should be entitled to read proposed insurance terms, it seemed in the public interest. Further since the site is entirely non-profit - any excess revenues to go to charity - there was no motive to "profit" from the postings. That is my explanation in response to your query. In accordance with the Privacy and Copy write section of the web site, now that you have requested that the wordings be taken down, they will be as fast as I can redo the specific pages involved. Please check in a day or two. By way of explanation, a copy and/or announcement of this correspondence will be posted. In closing, let me say that there was no intent to do any disservice to the industry or to your organization but the contrary. If you should have a change of heart I will be pleased to repost the wordings. You may feel as well, on reflection, it is a worthy service after all? Yours respectfully, Robert D'Arcy mailto:email@avindirect.com |
